Pallet swing
A swing is one of the simplest projects you can do with a pallet. If you have a sturdy tree or patio beam, a pallet, and rope – you’re good to go.
Prepare the pallet by hammering the nails in flush and then sanding back the timber to remove any splinters. Use a waterproofing paint to protect the timber from the elements.
You can drill holes for the rope, or simply notch the pallet where the rope will rub. Make sure your anchor points are all secure and the knots are tight.
Take the afternoon off to relax on your swing and dream about your next exciting project!
Pallet table
Picture a pallet coffee table that you might see in a trendy cafe. You won’t need to waterproof it unless you’ll be using it outdoors, but you may want to paint it in a colour to complement the rest of your home’s decor.
White looks fabulous for a beachy look, a timber stain gives you an urban edge, while a glossy black will make bold colours in the room pop.
Fix castors or vintage furniture legs underneath each corner. If you want shelving under your table, use the palings from a second pallet to create a shelf, or stack the pallets on top of each other to create a taller table.
We love the glass top they’ve used for this table to stop things falling through.
Pallet toddler bed

We also like beds that toddlers can’t fall out of. This toddler bed is perfect for the transition from a cot to a regular bed – and it’s so adorable.
Choose two to three clean pallets made from untreated wood, and be especially careful when sanding them back and hammering in wayward nails. Remember that kids jump on beds – sometimes in pairs – so make sure the bed base is solid for your little angel.

You have permission to kick yourself over this idea. Who knew that most pallets were perfectly designed for storing bikes? All these clever designs are easier to put together than even a flat-pack bookcase.
Pallet tool storage and shelves
Once you’ve reached this far down the list you’re probably starting to admire the tool section in your local hardware store and wondering where you’ll keep all those tools. Have no fear, there’s a pallet project for tool storage too! You can, of course, alter this project to suit your own wants and needs, such as the garden furniture set above. When will the possibilities end?
